The internship of master students from the Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal) Ines Reis and Alfredo Hernandez Enostroza is coming to an end! Ines and Alfredo were part of the first cohort of students of the HOPTEC program, a partnership between Hopkins and Tecnico that allows master students to come to JHU and conduct research in the lab.

Ines and Alfredo arrived in March 2024 and worked on the master thesis project, they are now headed back to Lisbon to defend their thesis. Best of luck to them!

Ines worked on a project dedicated to the 3D connection between the eye and the brain in mice models of Alzheimer’s while Alfredo participated in an effort to map precursor lesions in whole human fallopian tubes. They were both supervised by Andre Forjaz.
